Joint Commission International (JCI) has announced the appointment of Dr Kathryn Leonhardt as Principal Consultant of the company’s newly expanded quality and safety training programme for healthcare professionals.
Dr Leonhardt brings 25 years of experience in healthcare administration, leadership and research to the role. She will serve as the first point of contact for current and prospective clients for all JCI regions. She joined JCI in 2016 as a physician consultant and today her work includes tailoring education and training programmes based on an organisation's own data to develop and implement quality programmes that produce sustainable results.
"The need for global training for healthcare professionals continues to grow as healthcare evolves," Dr Leonhardt said. "Advanced tools and methodology in improvement have enormous potential to impact patient safety and quality of care. I am honoured to continue working with our diverse stakeholders through this unique curriculum that focuses on practical, effective results."
"With Kathy's expertise in improvement, patient experience and education, we can help organisations stay at the forefront of healthcare quality and patient safety," said Dr Marwa Zohdy, Vice-President of Global Consulting Services for JCI.
